Fans bid farewell to one of TV's favorite families this past April, when Modern Family wrapped its 11th and final season. Along with the series finale, ABC aired an emotional retrospective, looking back on a decade and then some of the sitcom. The cast has always seemed to be close off-camera as well, and a recent get-together proves that they still are. The Modern Family cast reunited (well, some of them at least) for the first time since the show ended to celebrate the birthday of Jesse Tyler Ferguson, who played Mitchell—and they even set a good COVID example.
Ferguson shared a snap of the masked birthday hang on his Instagram, along with some photos of the gifts his former costars brought him. Sofia Vergara (Gloria), Sarah Hyland (Haley), and Julie Bowen (Claire) were all on hand, bundled up to socialize on the actor's patio. So was Vergara's husband, fellow actor Joe Manganiello, though you might not have recognized him at first with his new blonde mohawk.
"Celebrating my 45th with some of my favorite people," Ferguson captioned the gallery. He also shared that Bowen, who played his sister on the show, knit a hat for new arrival Beckett, his first child with husband Justin Mitika. The multi-colored beanie reads "Facts Matter," and Ferguson wrote that he was "going to wear [it] until [the baby] can fit into it." He also included a photo of a gold candle from Vergara that's shaped like…an intimate body part, plus a pillow bearing the face of Anthony Fauci, MD, which, by process of elimination, probably came from Hyland.
Hyland shared a different photo from the same shoot on her Instagram with the caption, "J'adore ma famille" and a heart emoji.

1 Jesse Tyler Ferguson
Ferguson, whose actual birthday was on October 22, may be the busiest of them all since Modern Family wrapped. New baby Beckett arrived in early July. "The new parents are overjoyed and excited for this new journey as a family of three," a representative told People of Ferguson and Mitika at the time.
Work-wise, he appears in the short film Island Queen, which was released over the summer via a few festivals.

3 Sarah Hyland
Hyland is one of the hosts of the new web series Lady Parts, which features medical experts and other celebrities discussing topics related to female anatomy.
"It's like handing someone an old clock radio and saying, 'I don't know, sometimes it'll make noises and stuff but it works. Honestly, what the **** is going on down there?" Hyland says in a clip from the show.
The actor is also engaged to Bachelor Nation alum, Wells Adams, though it's likely that the pandemic put any wedding plans on hold for now.
