Back in December, an absolutely heartbreaking video of a dog being abandoned in England went massively viral. The CCTV footage is genuinely hard to watch, as it shows a man getting out of his car on an empty road and taking the dog out before getting back into the car and driving away. What made the video especially excruciating was how long it took the poor pup to realize what was happening. The video shows him excitedly jumping up against the car, expecting his human to let him back in any moment, and chasing after it once it finally drives away.

After the video went viral, the Staffordshire Bull Terrier—who was named Snoop—was inundated with offers from people who wanted to give him a forever home. In a hilarious twist, even American rapper Snoop Dogg said he would take him if no one else would, telling The Daily Star, "there is always room for another dog in Casa de Snoop."
Snoop was picked up by The Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA), an organization that said it was reviewing applications for this loving pup.

Now, we're pleased to report that, on Tuesday, the RSPCA took to Twitter to announce that Snoop had been adopted and was now "living a life of luxury in his new Hertfordshire pad, which has a large garden and is surrounded by fields to run and play in!"

In an accompanying blog post, the RSPCA said that Snoop had been matched with an elderly gentleman named Laurence Squire, who lives in a nice, big house in rural England.
"I had a Staffie who I sadly lost in November," Squire said. "They're such a loving breed and so I started to look for another one. I contacted the RSPCA and said that I was looking for a male Staffie, around one to two years old. Then one evening I was watching the news when Snoop's story came on. What happened to him was shocking, and it was clear from the footage—in the way that he tried to get back into the car—that he was a loyal dog. I thought that he seemed like the perfect dog for me and that I could offer him the home he deserved."
In addition to the fact that they bonded immediately, Squire was also chosen as Snoop's new human because the poor dog suffered from separation anxiety as a result of being abandoned, and needed a home where someone was around all day. Squire said that Snoop "settled in straightaway," jumping on the sofa and claiming it as his own as soon as they walked through the door.
"He loves to lie on the back of the sofa and if I put the fire on he will curl up in front of it. He loves being warm and if he can find his way into a bedroom, you'll find him under the duvet with his head on the pillow."
He's even become a regular at the village pub.
The only thing Snoop doesn't like, in fact, is cars, most probably due the horrible thing that happened to him. But, as this story of a blind pit bull who found a great home after being abandoned in a hit and run shows, one of the best things about dogs is that they're quick to forget the bad and focus on the present. And, according an RSPCA spokesperson who visited Snoop in his new home, the two of them "already have a strong bond and Snoop absolutely dotes on him" and "Snoop is living like a king."
